Football 2011 Round 4 May 12, 2012   Gawler Central Footy Results

2011 BLGFA Clubs information  visit Sporting Pulse website for all A Grade, Reserves, U17's & U15's clubs results

We have had the week off now we can get ready to tackle the league's top side Tanunda at Tanunda on Saturday. All grades will have great matches against the Magpies so get over to Tanunda early and watch what will be a great day's football.

Last Wednesday the club played host to the funeral service of Club great and Life Member Graham "Wacca" Dawe. Wacca was fondly eulogized by his son Geoff and grandson Craig who both recalled what a great man he was and his love for his family and the Tigers and what a fitting farewell it was to hold the service inside the club where he spent so much of his time. In a moving tribute to the great man he was taken on one last a lap of the Gawler oval with "Eye of the Tiger" playing over the loud speakers. This concluded what was a moving occasion for all those present. Wacca might be gone but last Wednesday showed will never be forgotten at the Tigers.

Netball 2011 Round 3 May 5, 2012

Those in attendance court-side on Saturday will have enjoyed cheering on the Tiger gals for their 3rd game in what is proving to be a great season already.  Our little netta 2 girls scored their first 2 goals for the season while our Junior 2 girls scored an amazing 70 goals in a game with the highest winning margin for the day.  Senior 1's were back in the winning circle, while the 2's notched up their third successive win and our Super 7's also brought home their first win too.  Full results with coaches comments of games played are listed below.

The Kingsford Hotel Club Person of the week is awarded to Tracey Patrick.  Tracey holds the role of Club Treasurer and puts in an amazing amount of effort in keeping the club's finances all reconciled, plus pitches in and helps with anything and everything else that needs doing around the place too - thanks Tracey for your endless enthusiasm and assistance!

We extend congratulations this week to the following players on reaching milestone games with the club - 50 Junior games to Renee Stewart, Shannen Penna and Annaliese Halliday; 100 Junior games to Kate Burnett and Sophie Burnett and 150 Junior games to Cody Heath.  Well done to all !

This week we can all enjoy the weekend off for the whole club bye, after which we'll all be back as we venture up to Tanunda the following Saturday (19th May).  A big Happy Mother's day for Sunday to all our club's mum too
