On the home straight now…… as netball makes an official comeback for 2014 this coming Saturday.

Another great turn out to pre-season has enabled the Tiger gals to settle into regular training all in readiness for the season start this coming Saturday (April 12th) when we host Tanunda at home.  Teams have all been selected and settled into some strong physical fitness regimes coupled with the necessary skill training sessions and are ready to go!  Thanks to all of those who been making a thorough effort during pre-season and to those on the fitness coaching team who have been helping putting the girls through their paces – we trust all this hard work will pay dividends once the season begins.

The senior 1-2 squad played in the BLGNA pre-season ‘Zorich Group’ Cup hosted by us at home on Sunday in quite warm conditions.  It was a great opportunity to try different combinations using the 12 selected players from the squad and particularly great to see 3 of our Intermediate players join the girls on courts too –  thanks to Courtney, Emily & Meghan for being involved.  All looking good for the season ahead and a BIG thanks to all who helped out with the hosting of the event.

Coaches for all teams have been doing a fabulous job in getting the girls ready to start the season off and we thank them for their efforts.  Also special thanks to those on the committee who have been putting in countless hours behind the scenes in getting the girls organised to start off the season – Kelly for organising all our uniform & equipment requirements; Tracey for collecting all the player registrations payments etc; Michele for co-ordinating all the club records, and to Vicki for liaising with sponsor/supporters.  To everyone else involved with pre-season so far, and for all that work that goes on behind the scenes which is necessary to see the team take the court – BIG thanks to you all!

Thanks also to those who turned out to the recent club working bee.  All is again clean and tidy ready for the season to begin.

Thanks are extended to those sponsors who have already committed and jumped on board to assist the club – your continued support is much appreciated.  Thanks to the following for their special contribution to the Sporting Club and in particular to netball:-  Gawler Auto Transmissions; Gawler Landscaping Supplies; Harvey World Travel – Gawler; LPG Conversion Direct; Millard Conveyancing; Priceline Pharmacy – Munno Para; Symes Accountants; Gawler Dental Clinic; Taylor & Forgie; Wohler’s and The Kingsford Hotel.

After the games this weekend we are starting the social events straight off too – after teas are served in the clubrooms, the annual Player Auction will occur – so get your syndicates together and come on over to the clubrooms to try your luck at bidding for your favourite player(s).

Usually during the 2nd school term we run the Net-Set-Go programme, for those new to netball aged 6-8.  At this stage we are looking for anyone interested in assisting to run this programme either on a week night after school or on a Sunday morning.   Please call Leanne for further information or if you would like to assist, on 0410 495 745.
