The under 9’s started the weekend’s football at Kapunda Friday night with the Black team playing first. The award winners were, Jack Jolly ,Cameron Vardy, Liam Rowland, Liam Mccormack and James Spicer. The Award winners for the Gold team were Charlie Dear, Oliver Heberle, Shaun O’Donnell, Jethro Ryan and Noah Seddon.
The under 11’s Black defeated Kapunda with the award winners, B.Worden, T.Allen, C.Burrows and J.Tucker.The Gold side went down to Barossa with the awards went to Elija McDonald, Wyatt Seddon, Sebastian Krollig, Jayden Mullen, Jaras Stankevicius and Connor O,Donnell.
The Under 13’s had another good win against Kapunda with the best players Cale McConnell, Matthew Jones, Kahleb Warren and Jaye Mathews. The goals were shared with one each to Austinn Hill, Ross Grady, Corey Smith, Jake Nuitta and Ethan Herzick.
The Under15’s finally broke their run of losses with a great display over Kapunda. Bradley Pilkington continued his run of form dominating all match to be best with Cameron Tagg playing his best game not that far behind. Brodie Haskard gave them a great target up forward kicking seven goals. After this great display we hope that they can go on with it next match
The Under 17’s started slowly, this was mainly due to a huge number of changes from the week, after that they settled down and played some good football to win convincingly. The Best players were Brandon Hope, Jamie Wegener and Dylan Pilkington. The leading goal kickers were Jay Frahm, Jamie Wegener and Brandon Hubbard all with three goals. Adam Byster team captain played for Kapunda on his week off played well against his team mates.
The Reserves had another good win, keeping their unbeaten run, with the best players being, Beau Mason, Rhys Kalic and Haydon Schloithe while the leading goal kickers were Ben Walter with four, Aaran Fox with three, Jorden Neat and Haydon Schloithe with two. Casey Koen kicked his first goal for a while that, by the end of the day was the goal of the year.
In the A’s we started well but were overrun by Kapunda who were much quicker with very good ball usage showing that they are a force to be reckoned with. The best player were Nathan Flynn, Kyle Wurst, continuing on from last week and Tom Dunne with six goals.
This week we have the long weekend bye and need it to give a few players some injury recovery time.
The Shuffle Night at the Club went well on Saturday night. Thanks to the Social Committee for organising such a seuccessful event.
