The under 9’s started the weekend’s football on Saturday morning at the Nuriootpa ice skating rink, well it looked that way, with the Black team award winners, Liam McCormack, Ryan Menz, Liam Rowland, cameron Vardy, Zander Walton and Shyla Tucker.
The u/9 Gold also played Nuriootpa with the awards to Jett Poulish, Oliver Heberle, Ethan Demarchi, Connor Assender and Ludorve T’Ligi
The under 11’s Black defeated Nuriootpa withthe awards to Thomas Allen, Connor Holland, Cody Postill, Thomas Allen, Tyson East, Connor Holland and Hudson Vivian. The Gold side also defeated Nuriootpa with the awards to Elijah McDonald, Connor O’Donnell, Connor Guinan, Evan Brown and Zac Leeflang.
The Under 13’s had another good game against Nuriootpa 6.5 41 points to 3.1.19 points. Nuri got to within 9 points but the boys held on for a good win. The Award winners were Tom Chamberlain, Jack Nicholls, Shannon Willis and Cale McDonnell. The Goal Kickers were Jaye Mathews 3, Austinn Hill, Shannon Willis and Jack Niutta.
The Under15’s after putting the first score on the board but were never in the game after that. too much work left to too few. The best players were Brad Pilkington again, Josh Denton and Daniel Pratt.
The Under 17’s had a good hard match, drawing away in the second half to have a good win. The best players were Blayke Lane, Jamie Wegener and Kyle Giniotis. The leading goalkickers were Adam Byster 5, Kyle Hummell and Kyle Giniotis 2 each.
The Reserves had another good win, keeping their unbeaten run, with the best players being Josh Edwards, Hayden Schloithe and Todd Lamont. The leading goal kickers were Aaran Fox 3, Lachlan Hill 2 and Sean Maher 2.
The A’s started well, but after quarter time were never in the game, we were beaten by a class act, but we are well down on players at the moment. The Best players were Jake Asher, Luke Edwards and Matt Phillips. The leading goal kickers were Tom Dunne and Andrew Wright with 2 each.
Our trainers will be very busy for the next few weeks trying to repair a lot of injured players for the back half of the season and with several more injuries on Saturday, they might need a magic wand.
All sides have a day off this weekend with the state wide zone competition.
