The under 9’s and under 11’s had their mid season break during the school holidays.
The Under 13’s had another good win in cold wintery conditions winning 8.5 53 to 0.1 1. the team is continuing to improve every week, a sign for the future. The goal kickers were Ethan Herzick 3, Jaye Mathews 2, Angus Arthur, Jake Niutta and Jay De la Perrelle 1 each. The best players were Jack Nicholls, Jay De la Perrelle, Jack Taylor Evans, Angus Arthur, Austinn Hill and Jake Niutta.
The Under15’s played their best game for the season, coming from 2 goals down at quarter time to win. There were a lot of good players with Josh Denton, Jack O’Connell and Lachlan Corbin leading the way. Hopefully this was not a one off game, but the start of something good. Brodie Haskard with 2 goals was the leading goal kicker.
The Under 17’s continued on their winning way. If they had not sprayed their shots for goal in the second quarter they could have had a much bigger win. The best players were Zac Gupta, Kyle Giniotis and Hayden Reynolds. The leading goal kickers were Brodi Mathews and Brandon Kemp 4 each and Jamie Wegener 3.
The Reserves had another good win, keeping their unbeaten run, with the best players being Sean Maher, Ben Walter and Tom Williams. The leading goal kickers were Jordan Neat and Ben Walter with 2 each.
The A’s started well with Brad Mercer kicking 5 goals in the first quarter and the team never looked back. It was a good team effort with Brad Mercer, Andrew Wright and Tom Dunne leading the way. The leading goal kickers were Brad Mercer with 9 and Tom Dunne with 6.
This week it’s off to Williamstown to play Barossa, and as usual it will be a wet one. Mother Nature must look at the football program and plan the weather from it.
Do not forget the Trivia Night on Saturday night at the Clubrooms. As usual it will be a good night, so find some smart friends and bring them along.
