Wrap up of Saturday’s games played in the 2nd semi-final played at South Gawler saw the Tigers represented in 3 football games and 4 netball games.

The day started over at the courts with Inter 2’s coming up against Willaston in a strong and well contested game with the final score going Willaston’s way 35 to 27. Then it was the Inter 1’s turn as they came up against Angaston, playing fast and skilled netball to lead 20 to 3 at first quarter break and never looking back after that. A win in the bag and straight through to the Grand final for this undefeated team with final score 42 to 24. Top stuff!

Meanwhile over at the oval the Under 17’s probably played their best game for the season when they blew Nuri off the park keeping them goalless for the entire game. Coach Lane has got the boys playing some magic football and there is only one hurdle left to get over and the flag is theirs. The Reserves came up against a gallant Barossa side but in essence the game was all but over at half time as the lads ran easy winners by 51 points. The main game saw us come up against the undefeated Nuri side. Our boys hung in there but in the last quarter wilted under the intensity applied by Nuri. The lads now have to re-group as they have to front the Bombers this Saturday in what will be a great game of football.

Also in the afternoon both the Div 5 and Div 6 netball teams played – the Div 6’s coming up with a nice win against South Gawler 49 to 42 taking them also straight through to the Grand Final, while the Div 5’s struggled somewhat also against South Gawler with the final score 51 to 27 and so will need to play this coming weekend again.

Onto this coming week we venture out to Nuriootpa for the Preliminary final when teams play off for a place in the Grand final the following weekend (19th Sept @ Kapunda). The club will be represented by Football A’s and netball Intermediate 2’s, Div 1, Div 2 and Div 5 all playing – all supporters encouraged to attend in what is forecast to be a nice Spring day and encourage these Tigers along.

After the games @ Nuriootpa on Saturday our Club rooms will be open for teas and presentations with all most welcome & encouraged to come on by. Following weekend after the Grand final @ Kapunda the club will also be open with DJ till late.
