A fine Saturday morning saw round 15 start for the Tigers against the Freeling Redlegs on number 2 oval. Our Under 9 Gold side awards went to Will Seaton, Tyler Kemble-Jones, Zac Seaton, Jett Poulish, Aden Heberle, Noah Seddon and Joshua Pickering. The Black team’s award winners were Cooper Luckman, Luca Renshaw, Corey Benwell, Kane de la Perrelle and Riley Edge. In the Under 11’s our Black side defeated the Freeling’s boys in great team effort with award winners being Caleb Burrows, Josh Harris, William Evans, Nate Oldman, Tyler Schippan, Emerson Massey and Ethan Williams.
On a very boggy main oval the Under 13’s started the action and went down by 19 points in very ordinary conditions. The better players for the Tigers were Jarrod Dieckmann, Thomas Allan, Tommy Chamberlain, Chelsea Linsell, Xander Bates, Sam Griffiths, Trent O’Brien and Boyd Worden.
In the under 15’s our lads played some great football in very boggy conditions. The boys played great team football and the result was never in doubt from the first bounce seeing them run out winners by 60 points.
The 17’s game result was similar to the Under 15’s with the Tigers in control from the first quarter and ran out comfortable winners by 64 points.
By the time the Reserves game started the oval was in dreadful condition with heavy boggy patches all over the ground. The Tigers played very good wet weather football and were never troubled by the Redlegs running out winners by more than 15 goals. Better players for the Tigers were Brandon Downie, Rhys Kalic, Sam Marsden, Matt Neville, Jon Hallion (4 goals) and Adam Byster (3 goals).
Although the conditions certainly evened up the contest in the A grade the Tigers never looked in any real trouble and comfortably ran out winners by 11 goals in what was a real slog. The conditions suited Kalon Heintze nose over the ball style of football and he was judged the Tigers best. Others to play well were Jason Blakemore, Ben Walter, Craig Jamar, Craig Taylor and Josh Edwards.
This week is our bye so we get to have the weekend off. The following Saturday we come up against the Willaston Donnybrooks with the A Grade being a night game – more details next week.
August 6th Bye
August 13th versus Willaston at home (Night game).
