The weather was much more kind on Saturday when we took on Barossa at home for our last game of the round. With the long weekend bye & our club bye the week after the players will be looking forward to a much needed rest & reboot before we get ready to take on round 2.

In an impressive feat at the end of our round 1 games we’ve got Senior 1 right through to Inter 2s sitting comfortably in the top 4 with this unlikely to change despite our upcoming club bye. Well done to these 9 teams! Plenty of improvement to be had for our little Tiger Gals, keep working hard & the results will come.

The big milestone games continued this week with Senior 7 player Kayla Pike playing in her 200th game. Congratulations Kayla!

Kingsford Hotel club person of the week goes to Jess Kotsoglous; Jess each week collects our cans, bottles & recycling from around the courts. A thankless job but one that helps GCNC do their part for the environment.

Thank you also to our weekly award supporters for their generosity with the incentive awards provided – Starplex, Wohler’s, Kingsford Hotel, Harvest of India, Dominos, Gawler Newsagency, McDonalds, Hungry Jacks, Gawler South Bakery, Supercuts, Brereton Jewellers, Exchange Hotel

Each week the Gawler Central Football Club kindly donates 2 awards for the best player in 2 teams from the day; this week awards went to Lisa-Marie Moloney from Senior 4s & Kylie Cooper from Senior 5s. Thank you to the GCFC for donating this award each week!

Make sure to check out our club website at for all the latest or follow us on social media; Facebook – Gawler Central Netball Club & Instagram @gawlercentralnetballclub

Enjoy the 2 weeks off & for those that we don’t see at the GCFC 130 Year Gala Ball we will see everyone else back at the courts on June 22nd when we take on Kapunda.

Senior 1 54 62 Dayna Schmid, Jodie Rich-Nourse Courageous effort by the girls. Attackers were outstanding all game to absorb the physicality and shoot through the pressure.
