The weather was less than kind to us at Freeling on Saturday with many warming up and or playing in a downpour of rain accompanied by icy-cold wind. Luckily for all those teams on Court 2 who got to play in Freelings Indoor Sports Stadium and avoided the harsh elements.
We headed back to the club Saturday night for our annual shuffle night, after a freezing cold day out at Freeling it was quite fitting this year’s theme was dress up in your PJ’s. Thank you to everyone that came along & for all the senior netball teams for purchasing songs for the night.

Congratulations to Sub Junior 2 player Rebekah Scharkie who played her 50th game on Saturday. Well done!

Thank you also to our weekly award supporters for their generosity with the incentive awards provided – Hudson’s, Kingsford Hotel, Wohler’s, Supercuts, Brereton Jewellers, Anytime Fitness, Exchange Hotel, Gawler Cinema, Starplex, McDonalds, Fasta Pasta, Gawler South Bakery

For those that haven’t already heard this week is Pink Day when we host South at home. There’s plenty happening around the club throughout the day. We’ve got a Pink High Tea & Fashion Show hosted by GCFC in the Nixon Centre raising funds for Australian Breast Cancer Research (see Fb page for ticket purchase details). Look out for more details to come throughout the week.

Senior 1 77 24 Dayna Schmid, Donna Victory Solid performance by the team and brilliant full court defence. Shooters on target despite average weather conditions, midcourters played consistent and circle defenders worked hard to gather rebounds
Senior 2 67 23 Pamela Warner, Rhiannon Norton Great game in awful conditions
Senior 3 63 30 Sophie Burnett, Grace Asher Great game, consistent 4 quarter effort
Senior 4 62 34 Kate Burnett, Lisa-Marie Moloney We were lucky enough to play inside and made the most of it. Tried different combinations and it worked well. Great effort girls
Senior 5 90 31 Joleen Scheepens, Cathrine Matthews Fantastic game in the conditions
Senior 6 48 21 Karley McDougall Good game under wet conditions. Thanks Cassie, Kate & Sammy for filling in and playing for us
Senior 7 35 19 Becky Couzner, Kayla Pike Great game considering the weather. Played well as a team.
Inter 1 34 21 Sharni Assender, Tayah Claxton Highly defensive game today, the weather proving difficult to execute clean play in attack. Girls settled in the second half and found their form to push the score out. Well done
Inter 2 NO GAME
Junior 1 36 69 Emma Saunders, Kate Grady Good hard fought game. The patches of bad play are what let us down, lots to work on
Junior 2 15 34 Bella Pugliese, Reese Griffiths Good pockets of play – never gave up
Sub Junior 1 10 41 Isabella Schippan, Riley Vivian
Sub Junior 2 7 18 Maddy Burleigh, Elsie Brown Great game by the girls, we didn’t score well but our game play against a quality team was great. Well done girls.
Sub Junior 3 10 15 Sophie Hutchins, Mia Baldwin-Reidy Fast moving team but we played better when we focused on playing how we played & not trying to be quick like them.
Primary 1 2 19 Ella, Savannah The girls kept their heads up and did their best. They are simply in the wrong division but show improvements each week
Primary 2 13 10 Leila Mace, Jasmine King Amazing first half against a tough opponent. Well done!
Netta 1 Well done in the half we played girls
Netta 2 Macy, Olivia Well played girls, all kept going in the rain
