We finally made it! After a cancelled BLGNA season in 2020 we finally got back out on the courts & didn’t it feel great!! To all Gawler Central Tiger supporters, welcome to season 2021 of football and netball. It was great to see the start of the 2021 season on Saturday where we played cross town rivals Willaston. It’s always an exciting time for everyone after weeks of preparation with trials & then preseason for it to all come together particularly after our extended absence.

It was certainly unusual weather for Round 1 this year, the intermittent patches of rain & that unpredictable wind made for some tricky netball conditions throughout the day. Despite it all we did come away with 12 out of 13 wins on Saturday, an awesome effort for the club for our first game back. Now to look forward to next Saturday where we host Freeling for our first home game for the 2021 season. We hope to see plenty of GC supporters at the courts to cheer our Tiger gals on.

Our 2021 Cadbury Chocolate Fundraiser is going strong & we thank all club members who have contributed to this fundraiser so far. Don’t forget to send through your money to the Gawler Central Netball Club bank account when you have sold your boxes too. We do have a number of boxes still to sell so if you are able to take another box we would love to hear from you. This years fundraising is for a new airconditioning/heating split system for our clubrooms – a welcomed addition to our club during those freezing winter days!

To get all of our teams onto the courts on Saturday, there have been many club members contributing countless hours of their time particularly in ensuring we are meeting all requirements for our Covid Safe Plan. Thanks to everyone for their help – coaches, umpires and all of the committee who are a very dedicated group and have worked tirelessly to have everything ready. Thanks also to our continuing sponsors & our new sponsors for season 2021 – we appreciate your generosity and ongoing support.
