We’ve made it to the last game of the first round & after 3 weeks on the road we were finally back home against Tanunda on Saturday. Our 7 senior teams have set themselves up for a strong entrance into the second round with all teams either sitting 1st or 2nd on their respective ladders, an impressive effort! It’s been a tougher first round for our little Tigers girls but as that confidence on the court builds so will their scoreboard results! Well done to our Junior 2s & Sub Junior 2s for finishing in their top 4 at the end of the first round.

As you may have seen on our social media during the week we had some Tiger girls participate in the netball SAPSASA competition at Priceline Stadium. The girls had an awesome time & enjoyed their few days of netball representing Gawler & Districts. Well done to Te’ara Ey, Marley Koen, Sahara Challen & Scarlett Turner who played in the Year 6 competition as well as Summer Challen who played in the Year 7 competition. The future is bright for our Tigers!

We had a new inclusion to our canteen on Saturday – the arrival of our very own coffee machine! The word on the street was that it was very well received by our GCNC community for these cold winter Saturday’s. If you haven’t tried one yet make sure you head to the canteen at the next home game when we take on Willaston on June 19th after the long weekend.

Thank you to Wohlers Furniture & Homewares for donating a ‘Wonder Woman of the Week’ award to be given to a player from one senior team each week. This week’s award goes to Senior 2 player Paige Miettunen; Paige has been working so hard every week at training & her confidence has definitely grown in her game on Saturday’s. Paige is also assisting with coaching our Sub Junior 1 team & is thriving in this role.

Apologies for the confusion this week we had intended on drawing the 10kg Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate raffle at the club on Saturday night however there are still some raffle books in the community that needed to be collected. We will definitely do it after the Willaston home game on June 19th!

We’ve got a bye this Saturday for the June long weekend so we hope everyone enjoys the week off & comes back firing for the second round of the season!
