Hello Past Players and Officials and welcome to Season 2017!

There’s a great vibe around the club at the moment with some major changes taking place over the off season, including the appointment of a new President, Andrew Pike, a new Senior Coach, Matt Whelan and a new Major Sponsor ‘Springwood – Gawler East’.

One of the major aims of the GCFC committee this year is to re-invigorate the club on and off field.  We intend on doing this by getting back to basics and creating a fun and welcoming environment for everyone associated with our club.

The Club 1889 membership continues grow and is a critical part of achieving the “fun” part off the field.  Now in it’s third year, it is gaining momentum and is achieving it’s purpose of getting more and more familiar faces back to our great club, both on the Reunion Day and also during the course of the year.

The Reunion Days have undoubtedly been the highlights of the year for the past two seasons, and we expect this year to be no exception!

The 2017 Reunion Day is locked in for the 17th of June (vs Barossa in the Grand Final Rematch). Please mark your calendars and put a line through this weekend so you don’t miss out on another day to remember with your old mates.

This year we will be celebrating the following premiership anniversaries:

  • 50 years – 1967 U17’s
  • 40 years – 1977 B Grade & U15s
  • 30 years – 1987 U17’s
  • 20 years – 1997 U17’s

This year we are introducing some new membership levels to Club 1889.

The new levels provide something for everyone, and also offer options for those who want more benefits and want to dig a bit deeper for the club..

Whilst we have maintained the General Club 1889 membership at $55, we have introduced 2 other levels, Premier & Legend, which offer some great benefits.

Each level now has an upgrade option to accommodate the partners of past players and officials.  Wives and partners of players and officials have played a big part in the success and enjoyment of our club over the years, so it would be great to have them back with you at the club, especially on Reunion Days.

Membership levels and all benefits are listed when you click on the link below (under Membership Payment).

This year we will also have a Club 1889 Member Board proudly hanging in the clubrooms showing off all our members under each level.  It will be great to see some familiar names up there, including your’s hopefully!

Another change this year is the ability for you to apply and pay your membership online.  For those not so tech savvy, applications and payment facilities will be available at the club or we can email you a membership form to complete if required.  But for most, the online process should be very easy!

To pay and apply online, please follow the following link: http://gawlercentralsc.tidyhq.com/public/memberships/new

All you need to do is enter your email address and follow the prompts.

Whilst we don’t have a cut-off date for payments, we are hoping that you might consider paying prior to the start of the season (April 22).  Much of the major costs of running our club are at the start of the season, so we would appreciate the early cashflow!

If you have any queries about Club 1889, please contact Damian Brook on 0430 275 050 or email: club1889@gcsc.com.au

We look forward to you being part of our club this year.
